In the early days of modern satellite TV service back in the early part of the 1990s selecting a satellite TV service provider was relatively easy. There were only a couple of them and they all had far more channels than any cable service provider had, so there really wasn’t much to think about. There was a drawback back then though that kept many people from making the switch to satellite and that was that a new satellite TV system had to be purchased before satellite TV programming could be received in the home. The total cost of the system and installation ran over a thousand dollars and back then a thousand dollars was a lot more money then it is now. That all changed however; when satellite TV programming service providers began to offer new satellite TV systems to people that signed an extended programming service agreement.

While it may seem like the deal of the century on the surface, it really isn’t so don’t jump at the first service provider that offers you one, because they all will. The cost of home electronics components has fallen dramatically over the years and even then the cost of the system to the service provider is figured into the price that you pay for the extended service agreement.

It is in your best interest to get the best deal that you can on your satellite system and any other hardware that you receive for that matter, because after the deal is done it is yours to own. This means that you are responsible for any repairs if your system malfunctions in any way. All of the varrious satellite TV programming service provider carry different brands of electronics components, so you my think of doing some research into their brands before you make your final decision.

This particularly holds true if you are going to be receiving high definition programming because high definition receivers can be expensive to replace particularly if they have DVR. While one satellite TV programming service provider will offer you a high definition receiver free of charge, another still will charge you a fee for their high definition receiver.

So which one should you go for? The choice is yours to make and it might turn out to be that the receiver that you have to pay for is a far better receiver and comes with more feature options as well. Also, the fee that they charge may be well below the market value of the receiver making it yet an even better deal.

If you are going to be receiving satellite TV programming on multiple TVs in your home then the equation becomes even more complex, because that requires multiple receivers. One thing that is important to remember is that all of the top satellite TV service provider don’t charge any fees for upgrading their service packages or their receivers, so you may want to go about this whole thing in increments that can better fit your budget. Either way you do things, give careful consideration to all of your options before you sign on the dotted line, so you can be assured that you are getting the best deal that is out there.

Dish Network InstallationYou’ve taken that first step and ordered your brand new DISH Network satellite system, replete with a satellite mini dish, receiver/receivers, remotes and cables. But now what? Some satellite installers charge as high as $250.00 to install a dish and get your satellite TV system up and running. That’s alot of money for most people. For all new Dish Network subscribers, DISH will actually install your entire satellite system for FREE! And the job will be done properly and professionally. Installation usually happens within a few days of placing your order and once the DISH installer is done, he will program your televisions, show you how to operate the system and answer any questions that you may have.
Dish Network’s Standard Installation includes:

Site survey (at time of installation)
Assembly of dishes and mount(s)
Grounding of system components
System peaking for optimum performance
Installation of up to 120′ RG-6 cable
One wall cable penetration
Testing of equipment for proper operation
Orientation to DISH Network programming and equipment

Materials Provided At No Charge:

Up to 120′ RG-6 cable
Coaxial cable connectors
Grounding equipment
Weather sealant for connections and structure penetration

Now, for those do-it-yourselfers out there; you can do the job yourself; but be prepared to have a few hours of your time invested. Also, you’ll need to have a ladder and the proper tools to install the satellite dish on your rooftop. So unless you are handy around the house; we highly recommend that you take advantage of Dish Network’s free installtion offer. All others, read on.

Do-It-Yourself Satellite Dish Installation

First, make sure that the satellite dish will have an unobstructed view of the southern sky(hemisphere). There must be no obstructions such as tall trees or buildings which would block the signal coming from the DISH satellite. You can mount your Dish Network satellite dish on your sun deck, side of the house or on your roof. The dish should be within 100 feet or so of your TV. Also, if you rent a home or an apartment, you must get written permission of your landlord in order to have the dish installed.

If you decide to install the dish on the roof of your house or garage, you’ll need a ladder and also some basic tools, such as a wrench or pair of pliers. You should use a mounting bracket to secure the dish onto the roof. Make sure that the satellite dish is facing the southern sky. Next you’ll need to run the coaxial cable from the dish down the side of the house and into your living room or bedrooms where ever your televsions are located. Connecting your satellite system then involves connecting the coaxial cables to your satellite receivers (black boxes) and then last to your television sets. You must also connect your receiver to a telephone jack - this is for ordering Pay Per View, etc. Simply follow the diagram that came with your Dish Network satellite system.

Next, turn your TV on and navigate to the DISH signal strength menu on your screen. This will provide you with the correct azimuth (direction), elevation (angle) and skew (dish rotation) for your home’s address so you can correctly aim your satellite dish with the proper coordinates. Now have someone monitor the on-screen signal strength menu while you point the satellite dish in the right southerly direction. By moving the dish slowly up and down you will eventually obtain the maximum signal strenght. Be patient as this step could take awhile; but it is important so that you get the very best picture quality possible.

Lastly, you will need to call DISH Network on their 800 toll free number to activate your newly installed system. The DISH operator will simply ask you a few questions so that you and your family can start enjoying all the wonderful programming that Dish Network provides to its subscribers. And all in 100% digital quality audio and video. If you hit a snag, no problem, simply call Dish Network at 1-888-284-7116 and schedule a professional DISH installer to come out and get your new DISH system up and running.

How exciting would it be to get tv on your pc? Most of us spend most of our free time in front of the television and the other half of our free time is spent surfing the web, but what if you could do both at the same time. Satellite tv on your pc makes this possible. It is so easy to get tv on your pc these days that it is literally a click away. This exciting new feature is revolutionizing the way we spend our free time.

So let me ask, how much do you spend per month on cable/satellite? Now even with satellite you get maybe a few hundred quality channels at most, but imagine having over 9000 channels streaming straight to your pc! How much would you be willing to pay to get tv on your pc now? Well luckily this outstanding service is actually a lot cheaper than you may think. Most of us would certainly be willing to pay almost $50 a month for this service, but surprisingly a service like this can cost you about a $50 one time fee! So all you have to do to get tv on your pc is pay a single fee of what would cost you a month of a regular tv service and you have instant access to over 9000 channels for the rest of your life!

Now of course an offer like this over the internet sounds to good to be true, but that’s why almost all of these companies offer a one or two month money back guarantee. This means that you have nothing to lose but your time, and you could even get a few thousands channels on your pc for a month at no charge!

So you’ve decided your ready to get tv on your pc, or at least try it out for a few days and see if you like it. Then this article can help you choose which service is right for you.

“Get Satellite TV for PC today!!” The ad flashes cross your screen.”Yeah right,” you scoff. “Get Satellite TV for PC for this type of price? There’s definitely got to be a catch. Deals like this never turn out the way they advertise. This has got to be a scam.”

Really? I’m sorry if that’s the way you feel, because this Satellite TV for PC deal is as authentic as a deal gets. For a low, one-time payment in the range of $40-$90, you can get thousands of channels from around the globe for as long as you own a PC. No scams, no drawbacks. Only as much sports, movie, weather, news, educational, music, and shopping television from around the globe as you can handle.

“But this Satellite TV for PC deal must have a drawback,” you may still wonder. “Getting a satellite for my television is so much more expensive to set up, and then I have to pay an astronomical monthly fee to keep the stations! How can Satellite TV for PC be legit?”

That’s the beauty of these Satellite TV for PC packages. They’re as legit as they come. I’ve even tried the packages myself, and I’d recommend the purchase to anyone and everyone! The software is 100% legal and able to connect to any PC with a Microsoft operating system. After buying the program, I never had to pinch pennies to pay the next satellite bill. Packages are sold by reputable companies whose only goal is to make a profit while providing quality products to customers such as me. I, like you, was skeptical about the Satellite TV for PC package. I never dealt with one bit of adware, spyware, or virus, though. These selling companies proudly stand by the quality of their Satellite TV for PC packages.

Still not convinced of the authenticity of the companies promoting these almost too good to be true deals? How about their 100% satisfaction guarantee? Within 8 weeks of purchase, if your software breaks, malfunctions, or you are, for some reason, dissatisfied with the provided service, 100% of the product will be replaced or your money returned. While they offer this, I highly doubt you’ll use it. I absolutely love my satellite TV for PC software. It’s saved me a fortune!

They have a goal of making their products as simple to use as possible? The Satellite TV for PC packages require no fancy and expensive computer accessories. No TV cards, high-end video cards, and cable hookups are necessary. That was a big bonus for me. I’m computer illiterate and wouldn’t know where to begin if I had to upgrade my PC. Upon purchase, I could download the needed software and begin watching in minutes. I didn’t have to worry about waiting and paying shipping and handling charges. I downloaded the program right after payment for the satellite TV for PC package. I now enjoy thousands of channels on my computer.

I wasn’t a sucker, and you won’t be a sucker for buying a Satellite TV for PC deal. Not only will you save loads of money by not having to pay a company to rent you satellites, hookups, and come install the gadgets at your expense, you’ll be able to bring your satellite TV with you wherever you go. What are you waiting for? Take advantage of the limited time discounts currently offered. Prices for this amazing, 100% legit service won’t remain low for long.

Have you discovered Satellite TV on your PC, yet? Satellite TV on PC is a new innovative way to watch all your favorite television programs with the high expense of a cable or satellite dish bill. However, does Satellite TV on PC have a future? No one really knows, but what is known is that PC satellite TV is becoming a very popular technology among the old, young and those in between. Why would so many people want to experience this new technology? The simple answer is that PC satellite TV allows you to watch over 3000 channels online without having a television entertainment bill anymore. Add to the savings you can enjoy the fact that you can enjoy your TV programs on any computer, anywhere as long as you have an internet connection.

The channels you get with PC satellite TV are not only those in the U.S., either. You can get channels from all over the world: Japan, Europe, the Middle East, Australia and others. Satellite TV on PC is your international television programming connection.

This new way of watching television simply involves converting your desktop computer or laptop into a television with innovative software. This satellite TV software expands the multiple uses your computer has and truly makes it a complete entertainment machine. In addition to doing all the things you already do on your computer, you are simply adding the ability to receive international broadcasts making it possible to watch your favorite television programs and sports online. And, you may actually discover new shows you enjoy.

This new innovative PC satellite TV technology is available to everyone via software. The software is easy to use with complete step-by-step instructions and guides to make both installation and use a breeze even for the novice computer user.

Two years ago when I first saw this technology, I never expected it would become so popular, but now I find myself watching TV online each and every day. In fact, I enjoy watching online so much that my TV gets very little use except when I connect my TV to my computer in order to view online TV shows on my television.

PC satellite TV is more than a fad, just like the internet, it is here to stay. Not only is it convenient, it is also a money saver since you can say goodbye to your cable or satellite dish along with the monthly bill.

Now more than ever, more and more discriminating TV viewers are making the switch from standard and cable service to Satellite TV service. With regards to satellite TV service, what started out as big has only gotten bigger and with progress comes change. This is why it can be rather difficult to keep abreast of all the options and features that the various satellite TV service provider have to offer.Hence; before you sign onto an extended service agreement with a satellite TV service provider, it is highly advisable that you do a little research to see what each one has to offer in their repertoire of programming packages and options. The big two satellite TV service providers are what you will most likely be selecting from and they are Dish Network and DirecTV.

The reason that they are the big players on the block is that they have the largest infrastructure in place and in satellite TV service that means satellites in orbit and relay stations. When making your final decision on just which provider you are going to select for your TV programming, it basically comes down to personal preference.

If you are interested in a maximum amount of programming channels, both of these providers have over 250 channels in their top programing packages but their content does vary somewhat. For instance, DirecTV will tend to have more sports oriented programming in their largest programming package while Dish Network is recognized as the leader in premium movie programing and therefore will lean more heavily in that direction.

Dish Networks satellite TV programming package options come in a series that they have named “Americas Top”programming packages and they offer easy choices of great blends of some of the best TV programming that is currently available for home TV viewers. They are Americas Top 100, Americas Top 200 and Americas Top 250 and they come with 100, 200 and 250 programming channels respectively, including complimentary Sirius satellite radio programming channels.

If you are on a tight budget they also feature a very low priced striped down 40 channel package that is called the “Dish Family Package” Virtually all of their packages are built up on a “core foundation” of basic popular programming channels that include such favorites as CNN, MTV, ESPN and QVC and of course all of your standard local TV channels in digital format.

When you examine what DirecTV has to offer in comparison, you will see that their packages come in a series called “Total Choice” and their numbers range from 140 to 185 to their largest package that like Dish Network contains 250 channels. They also have a 185 channel package that is called “Choice Extra” and it comes with a choice of two options that are DVR service or DVR service that comes with HD TV programming as well.

DirecTVs “Premier” 250 channel package has some differences from Dish Networks 250 channel package in that it comes with premium movie channels already includes in it including Starz Superpak, HBO, Cinimax and Showtime.

When it comes to foreign language programming, Dish Network does have more to offer with 19 channels to DirecTVs 13 but DirecTV does have some specialty sports programming channels that are only available through them called NFL Sunday Ticket and NCAA Mega March Madness. When it comes to programming options that these two giants of the industry have to offer it seems that the more you look the more you will find, so do your homework before you sign on the dotted line.

One thing that you will find when you comparison shop the two leading satellite TV programming service providers is that they both are offering free complete satellite TV systems as part of their introductory offers when you sign an extended programming service agreement. While on the surface it sounds like a unbelievable give-away, it really isn’t the deal of a lifetime, because you do have to sign on to an extended programming service agreement and you can rest assured that the cost of the satellite TV system is factored into the total cost of that agreement or they wouldn’t be offering it.Dish Network has three receivers that they offer and they include a standard receiver, a DVR receiver and a high definition receiver. The standard receiver that they will offer you comes with a few basic features that include parental controls for regulating the programming that your children can access, on screen program guide and a channel storage feature for storing favorite channels.

Their standard DVR receiver that they have to offer has some other features to offer you including of course the DVR that has a one-hundred hour memory capacity. Another great feature of their DVR receiver is the ability to pause a program at anytime and then restart it right where it was paused.

They also have a standard high definition receiver in stock to offer you that comes with limited auxiliary functions. It does however feature Dolby Digital Audio and auxiliary component output jacks for running the audio feature through your stereo speaker system if you choose to.

If you want a free HD DVR it doesn’t come free, because you will have to pay $200 for it. However; it does come loaded with features and has a memory capacity for 200 hours of programming in both standard and high definition format.

DirecTV also has three separate free receivers for you to choose from and all of DirecTVs satellite components are made by Hughes Electronics Corp. Their standard base level receiver is called the Director and it features what is called “DirecTV Active” and this unique feature allows the user to set up personalized updates that will show daily lottery results, weather and also a menu of preferred programming.

Their next choice in receivers is their Hughes Executive and it comes with several features including DVR, parental control, custom menu and programming search function. With the programming search function a user can locate a program by entering it in by name or even an actors name that is in the program.

DirecTVs next choice in receivers is their HD receiver that comes with output jacks to route the Dolby digital surround sound system through your stereo speaker for a theater quality sound. DirecTVs HD DVR receiver has all of the same functions as Dish Networks HD DVR receiver and even comes with the same price tag of $200 but DirecTV does offer a $100 mail in rebate offer.

I’ve had my satellite TV for years now and I’m thinking that other people should get it, too. Why? Because I happen to think that with all the perks that it is offering, I can’t believe that some people still do not have this, or worse, not even know what it is all about, or worse (yes, I can’t think of any other word that best describes what I’m feeling), not even know that it exists. I mean, come on. For something as wonderful as this, it has to become almost indispensable by now.Perk #1: Unlimited Channels

Okay, perhaps I am over stretching this part just a little bit since you can actually view a maximum of about 2,000 channels with a satellite. But how many channels can you view with your cable? 100? 150? Compare that to the thousands of channels that you can view with the satellite. I bet you can spend an entire day (and night) watching TV and never get close to watching all the channels available. That’s as close as unlimited, right?

Perk #2: World Travel

There are some people who know about satellite TV say that they won’t get one since they will just be wasting money over channels that they won’t even be able to appreciate. Really? I got three words for these people and that is, “use your imagination”.

With the massive number of channels that are from different countries of the world, you should think of positive thoughts. They allow you to see the world without leaving the sofa and save a lot of money from the plane tickets that you are supposed to buy. Know the different cultures and see the many wondrous sights without breaking into sweat (that is if clicking the remote control does not equate to exercise to you).

Perk #3: Save Money

This is one of my favorite parts since I personally don’t like wasting money over something that I, or anybody, could be saving on. With cable, you have to set aside money to pay for your monthly cable bill. With satellite TV, you have to set money aside to pay for the purchase of the satellite, and that’s it. No more of the monthly bills. Pay only once and enjoy the channels. I don’t care if I sound like an advertiser right now, but it’s the only way that I could tell you and make you imagine just how much money you’ll be saving with this package.

Perk #4: Save Your Eyes

There are just times when you have to strain your eyes since the cable is not working properly and thus giving out pictures that are scratchy and unclear. With a TV satellite, there’s no need for such. Why? Because they give you clear pictures 24/7.

Perk #5: Enjoy it anywhere

A lot of people often think that TV satellite only works in certain places. They could never be farther from the truth. See, the real score behind it is that it doesn’t pick any place for you to enjoy its perks to the maximum. It allows you freedom to watch TV and be in anyplace as long as the satellite dish is with you.

Are you one of those people who are always traveling with their computer and has a lot of downtime? Do you enjoy watching TV but never have the opportunity? You are now able to turn your computer into a TV and watch some of the most popular TV shows online. This article will talk to you about the advantages when you watch TV on the computer.Advantage 1- The first advantage is you no longer have to plan your life around watching TV. If there is a movie showing at 7 and that is when your favorite TV show is, miss the TV show because you can watch it online whenever you want. You have the advantage of watching your favorite shows whenever you want, which allows you to do more and possibly watch more than you have ever been able to.

Advantage 2- One of the biggest problems with watching TV is commercials. You are enjoying and getting involved into a TV show and then a commercial has to interrupt it. When you watch TV online, you do not erase commercials altogether; but, you are able to have fewer commercial breaks than if you were watching through the TV. You will typically have about five commercials of 30 seconds each, and your show will be about 15 minutes shorter for an hour TV show.

Advantage 3- Depending on the TV and computer you own, the picture quality may actually be better. If you do not own an HDTV but do own an LCD computer monitor, then you are probably going to experience a better quality picture watching through your computer then you ever have watching through a TV.

Advantage 4- The final, and maybe the most important advantage, is you are able to save money. Watching TV on your computer is free. You have access to almost every episode of today’s hottest shows, on your computer, for free. If you wanted to, you could stop paying for cable or satellite and just enjoy your TV shows through your computer, which could save you hundreds a month.

From opening your schedule to saving money, there are many advantages to watching TV on your computer. Being able to watch TV on the computer has many advantages, four of which have been listed to you in this article. It does not matter what reason you have, there really is no excuse to not being enjoying all of your TV shows on your computer.
